Networks and Connections

In 2009, the National Park Service designated River Walk a National Recreation Trail. Our William Stanley Overlook and W.E.B. Du Bois River Park link to several downtown history walks, the W.E.B. Du Bois National Historical Site, and the African American Heritage Trail of the Upper Housatonic Valley National Heritage Area. River Walk is supported by the Town of Great Barrington and provides a riverside connection to Great Barrington’s Trails and Greenways network. We are a recognized cultural landscape with The Cultural Landscape Foundation.
