Housatonic Heritage Fall Walks

Sundays in September, 2019: 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th

10:00 AM – 11:00 AM/1 hour-.5 miles

An Interpretive Stroll on the Housatonic River Walk, Berkshires’ National Recreation Trail.

Explore this community trail  that follows the Housatonic River behind Great Barrington’s busy Main Street. Hear about the volunteer effort to transform a devastated riverbank into a trail that reveals the river’s beauty. Learn about the river’s historic and ecological significance.

Gentle Hikes through Nature

River Walk provides guided tours for small groups tailored to visitor interests.  Make a date to enjoy a quiet walk along the river with opportunities to learn about native trees, flowers, ferns, and birds and to explore connections to history.   CLICK for more.

Thursdays 3:00 PM to 5:00 AM
(May through October, except for August)

Community volunteer workdays on the River Walk

Spend time with the River Walk team and contribute to the care of the trail and its riverside habitat. Registration is requested.
